With approximately 50 restaurants, clubs and many other eatingImage establishments Hervey Bay is a gourmet's delight. Hotels and clubs offer a smorgasbord and a la carté menu at very competitive prices while cafés and eateries offering a wide variety of fast and traditional food can be found in the main shopping centres and along the Esplanade.

The major fast food chains are located centrally. Private catering firms are available. Public barbecue and picnic facilities abound along the foreshore catering for individuals and groups.

Places to stay

Accommodation options are many and varied ranging from backpacker hostels to motels, self contained units, apartments, houses, flats, caravan parks, bed & breakfast establishments and luxury holiday resorts some of which overlook the harbour and beaches. Camping areas are also available. Many of the backpacker hostels meet the incoming buses into Hervey Bay while real estate agents hold listings for private accommodation. Fraser Island offers camping and resort style accommodation.
