Disability Services

Tourist operators are actively encouraged to ensure that their facilities are wheel chairImage accessible. Local taxi services provide appropriately modified transportation on request. People with a permanent or temporary severe disability using the taxis may be eligible for a subsidy.

The Riding for the Disabled Association of Hervey Bay provides horse riding for people with disabilities. Similarly, the Hervey Bay Community Access Association is a service that enables people with disabilities to participate in recreation and leisure activities of their choice which are otherwise unavailable to them.

Other disability services organisations are available to assist tourists and residents of Hervey Bay in their enjoyment of the great outdoors.
