Hervey Bay provides diverse opportunities to experience Australian heritage andImage culture. With a reputation as a genealogy centre, Hervey Bay also houses a wide variety of memorabilia in its historical attractions.

Traditional home of the Butchulla people, tours of significant sites on World Heritage Listed Fraser Island can be arranged and local Aboriginal craft is available.

Of particular interest are the Mining museum at Torbanlea, Brooklyn House and the Grand Hotel at Howard and the Hervey Bay Historical Museum in Zephyr Street. Nearby Maryborough City contains many fine examples of Queensland colonial architecture.
The Kanaka Memorial, Dayman Point Memorials, Poulson Cemetry and the new memorial in Freedom Park commemorate past deeds of the locals.
