The city and hinterland of Hervey Bay are blessed with an abundance of natural assets. The Great Sandy Strait, Fraser Island, the beaches, wetlands and bushland make Hervey Bay one of the greenest and most environmentally rich regions in South East Queensland.

Conservation groups and government agencies work together to conserve and enrich the region's valued environmental assets. The Fraser Coast Regional Council's vision actively encourages beach regeneration, extensive greening of public spaces and the creation of nature corridors while developing foreshore, recycling and water management plans.

Work For Dole Exceeds Expectations

Checkout the web sites built for Community groups by Skillcentred Work for the Dole participants, with guidance and training provided by Bay Connect. The projects below have been completed over the last three years in seven seperate Work for the Dole projects.

Bay Connect's website programs have been noted as the most successsful Work for The Dole projects in the Fraser Coast with seven projects running back to back and our 8th project due to start soon.
