Environment and Conservation

ImageThe city and hinterland of Hervey Bay are blessed with an abundance of natural assets. The Great Sandy Strait, Fraser Island, the beaches, wetlands and bushland make Hervey Bay one of the greenest and most environmentally rich regions in South East Queensland.

Conservation groups and government agencies work together to conserve andImage enrich the region's valued environmental assets. The Fraser Coast Regional Council's vision actively encourages beach regeneration, extensive greening of public spaces and the creation of nature corridors while developing foreshore, recycling and water management plans.
